Data centers have become the heart of the digital universe we inhabit, processing, distributing, and storing one of the most valuable assets for companies: their data.
This is why our clients and prospects frequently ask us about the physical and technological security measures that protect this vital information in our data centers.
Security at Adam’s Data Centers
The security of a data center begins with constructing buildings designed specifically to house such infrastructure, ensuring the equipment is always protected and redundant to guarantee continuous access to the data they hold. This is exactly what we’ve done at Adam.
Here are some of the measures and actions we take to ensure security at Adam’s data centers, both directly and indirectly:
- Secure Location: Constructing a building in a safe area with minimal atmospheric risks, as well as low risk of floods and fires that could endanger the infrastructure.
- 24/7 Monitoring: Providing physical surveillance and technical staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Intrusion Detection and Video Surveillance: Installing intrusion detection systems and video surveillance connected to on-site security personnel and external security forces to prevent unauthorized internal or external access.
- Fire Detection and Suppression Systems: Implementing fire detection and suppression systems in all critical areas.
- Redundant Power and Cooling: Ensuring continuous power and climate control through redundant infrastructures, as well as maintaining fuel supplies for generators to avoid dependency on external providers.
- Strict Maintenance Protocols: Performing rigorous infrastructure maintenance to minimize the risk of incidents. In the event of an issue, a 24/7 support team is available every day of the year.
- Access Control: Monitoring access to the building and to each zone and rack individually within our centers, with access defined according to the role of each employee, provider, or client.
- Certifications: Complying with various security standards. Currently, our cloud platforms are ISO 27001 certified, and we have held the ENS certification since 2021.
A highly qualified team to ensure operational excellence
In addition to these measures, it is essential that all Adam personnel are trained and prepared to operate within the data centers. The team’s controls and actions ensure the continuity of service and the security of all infrastructure and facilities. To achieve this, we undertake the following actions:
- Regular Audits: Conducting periodic audits and controls of security protocols and systems.
- Ongoing Training: Implementing continuous training for internal and security personnel on operational procedures.
- Client and Provider Compliance: Sharing data center security and usage policies with clients and providers and ensuring adherence to these standards.
- Tool Security Checks: Performing security checks on data center management tools to prevent software vulnerabilities or unauthorized access that could compromise the facilities and services.
- Client Request Validation: Ensuring remote hands services and incident resolution follow a strict protocol and validation process before execution.
- Provider and Employee Evaluations: Assessing providers and employees to confirm they meet the required standards.
